After consultation with local residents, we added to the refurbishment of the much-loved theatre with a large mural in the foyer. It showcases the creative history of the playhouse and illustrates popular events such as pantomimes and ballet. Also, in the bar we created a ‘3D’ art deco feature wall to accompany a photo exhibition celebrating British jazz singer Evelyn Dove. Clive Woodbridge, chair of the community and wellbeing committee, said “The foyer mural illustrates visually how important regional theatres are in bringing arts and creativity to local areas.”
