Urban Art 2013, is London’s largest annual open air Contemporary Arts Fair and takes place along the railings of Josephine Avenue where you can buy original artworks directly from the artists and discover wealth of creative skills, including Graffiti/Street Art, painting, photography and mixed media.
The event gets bigger and better each year and this year Positive Arts are joining forces with the Urban Art team to open up a whole street dedicated to Graffiti/Street Art. There will be several huge walls and to celebrate London Undergrounds 150th anniversary a life size replica of a Brixton tube train that will be painted live over the weekend. The event will feature some of the UK’s best artists such as Solo One, Mr Cenz, Cheo, 3dom, Rmer, Inkfetish, Chrome, Tizer One, Aero, Pure One and more.
There will also be food stalls, music and the opportunity to raise money for some very worthy causes so come and join in the street party atmosphere!
We have just finished another 6-week Graffiti/Street Art course with Plan B at Bexleyheath Academy, Kent. We worked with a group of students at risk of becoming NEET to create some positive and inspiring artwork to be displayed within the school.
We have just been updating the artwork on the shutters of the Aylesbury Youth centre, Aylesbury Estate, Southwark. We worked with the local kids over 5 days to create a a bright, colourful and inspiring mural themed on the local landmarks and wildlife.
We have completed a new indoor mural at Woodlands Youth Centre, Medway with a small group of memebers. The artwork was themed on a new international youth exchange programme between England and France that the young people from the centre are taking part in.
Despite the rain on Positive Arts still managed to put out all the stops with some original and outstanding graffiti art courtesy of Mr Cenz and Aero! We also had the privilege of checking out the new liquidtex spray paint and local MP Chuka Umunna popped by! Check it!
