Abbey Road Bridge Mural Unveiling Posted May 12th, 2008inNEWS
We have just finished a huge mural on both sides of the Abbey Road footbridge, Abbey Wood, Bexley. This was funded by the Green Chain Walk and organised in conjunction with Gallions Housing Association and Bexley Youth Service. We worked with a large group of young people from the local housing estate over the Easter holidays to create this mural dipicting the wildlife and nature seen in London’s green spaces. The mural was opened by the head of the Green chain walk and all the young people involved got certificates for their achievements!

Westheath Mural Unveiled Posted May 10th, 2008inNEWS
We have Just finished another mural with Bexley Youth Service. We painted the whole of the clubhouse at Westheath Recreation Ground, Abbey Wood with a large group of local young people. The project was another great success, transforming the vandalised and run down building into a bright and lively mural dipicting images of sports and nature!

Lessnessheath Primary School mural unveiled! Posted December 28th, 2007inNEWS
We have just finished a large outside mural for Lessnessheath Primary School, Bexley. We worked with a group of local 12-16 yr old young people to produce this mural which was based on the ideas and designs of the pupils of Lessnessheath. The project was run in partnership with Bexley Youth Service and openned by the head teacher of the school. It was a very sucessful project with all involved showing great pride and ownership for their acheivements.

Moving On PRU art exhibition Posted October 30th, 2007inNEWS
A selection of artwork produced by the graphics students at Moving On PRU was exhibited alongside the work of other Croydon PRU’s at the Coulsdon Manor Hotel. The work was based on the themes of health, nuitrion and well being. The exhibtion was launched by the major of Croydon (seen below with some of the young artists) and was a great sucess!

Kings Crescent Estate mural unveiling -Feb 2007 Posted March 5th, 2007inNEWS
On Friday 23rd February the mural was finally mounted and unveiled on Kings Crescent Estate, Hackney.
We worked with a group of local young people on the two pieces of artwork over a 10 week project. The aim was to reflect of the past and look to the positive future of the estate. The Estate is under going some major regenaration and the event was a launch of the work. The whole community turned out alongside local dignitaries and housing officers.
The day was a great sucess and a real celebration for all the hard work by the local young people.

St Hughes mural unveiling- Feb 2007 Posted February 10th, 2007inNEWS
On 13th February the second mural at St Hughes Estate, Anerley was unveiled!!
This was again done in conjunction with ‘Positive futures’ and opened by some of the Crystal Palace Football team!!

A picture of health
FOOTBALLERS encouraged youngsters to be ‘Health Wise’ when they unveiled a colourful mural.
Crystal Palace Football Club captain Carl Fletcher and team coach Kit Symons unveiled the mural at Hilda Lane Community Centre in Anerley.
The mural, which spells out the words ‘Be Health Wise’, was produced by 20 youngsters aged between 11 and 18, assisted by professional street artist, Julian Phethean of Positive Arts.
The initiative was organised as part of the Positive Futures programme organised by Broomleigh Housing alongside other agencies including Bromley My Time, Football Foundation, the youth offending team and the drug action team.
The three-year programme uses sport and leisure activities to have a positive influence on young people’s lives and includes twice-weekly football coaching in the community centre, with Crystal Palace Football Club.

Sutton YOT’s ‘Healthy Lving Programme’ art exhibition- Aug 2006 Posted February 5th, 2007inNEWS
Three groups of young people from the Sutton Youth Offending Team (YOT) participated in a series of Healthy Living Programmes.
Each group, over an 8 week period, explored important issues such as drugs, lifestyle, crime and sexual health, then expressed their thoughts, feelings, experiences and knowledge of these through street art.
The young people, supported by a professional artist Julian Phethean, have created nine original colourful, vibrant and thought-provoking pieces of street art that reflect pro-social, health and positive life images.
Their message/statement is aimed at encouraging other young people to live healthier lives.
